Doug is a retired police officer/detective and hospital safety & security manager. He was also an Emergency Medical Technician in both MD & PA for 28 years. Doug grew up in Centre County but has resided in Southern York County, PA for over 40 years.
Doug developed an interest in the Civil War during his youth after a school trip to Gettysburg. He began his portrayal of a Civil War Hospital Steward and Assistant Surgeon in 1996. With a longtime interest in combat medicine, he also enjoys his WWI, WWII & Vietnam Medical Impressions as a Medic/Aidman.
