I am very pleased to announce registration is open and online on the Gettysburg Foundation Website for our 3rd Annual Civil War Medicine Symposium on Saturday, May 4th, 2024. This Symposium is co-hosted by both the Blue & Gray Hospital Association and the Gettysburg Foundation. This year, we have 5 great speakers that include:
Sarah Kay Bierle-“Survival: Medical Care during the 1864 Shenandoah Valley Campaigns”
Frank Feyock and Dr. Rick Schroeder-“The Battle for Tomorrow: Civil War Surgery and Anesthesia.”
Betsy Estilow-“The United States Sanitary Commission.”
Mark Quattrock-“Trauma Care in the Civil War: Part I-The Union Perspective.”
Roland Maust-“Grappling with Death: The 2nd Corps Hospitals at Gettysburg.”
We will have both an in person and virtual option. The cost for the Symposium is :
$85/per person-In person attendance
$70/per person-Virtual Attendance
If you are members of either the Blue & Gray Hospital Association or the Gettysburg Foundation you are eligible to receive a $10 per person discount.
Those attending in person we will once again be in the Ford Room in the Gettysburg National Military Park Visitor Center. We will have breakfast items as we did last year along with beverages and the Refreshment Saloon will be open for lunch. Please note, lunch is not included in the price to register.
Registration will officially close on April 26th, 2024. If anyone has any questions, please let me know. Additional information will be e-mailed to you as we get closer to the Symposium.
