Welcome to all. John is honored to portray the chaplain impression for the BGMA. Long a man of faith and service, John retired from a career of teaching after 36 years of service. He worked for the WCPS system as a middle school science teacher, coach, and environmental resource source teacher. John worked after retirement for the Alice Ferguson Foundation and the National Park Service with their teaching programs as well. He enjoys time with family and friends, reading, collecting Civil War items, travel, and his two golden retrievers.
His impression hopes to lead to an understanding of the men and women who served through their spiritual convictions in the U.S. Christian Commission, military chaplaincy, and Sanitary Commission. “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.”: 1 Peter 4:10
